Privacy Policy

Who is responsible
This blog (blog.rezvov.com) is operated by Alex Rezvov. For any privacy question or request, write to mail@rezvov.com.
What this policy covers
It explains what personal data the blog collects when you read articles, subscribe to the newsletter, or leave a comment, why it is collected, who processes it, and what control you have. The site is aimed at an EU and RU audience and follows the GDPR as its baseline.
Analytics
The blog uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which articles they read. Analytics runs only after you accept it in the cookie banner. Until then, Google Consent Mode v2 keeps analytics storage denied, so no analytics cookies are written and only cookieless signals are sent. When enabled, GA4 collects pseudonymous data such as pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location, and device or browser type, and sets the cookies described in the Cookie Policy. Google acts as a data processor; see the Google Privacy Policy.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, the blog stores your email address to send notifications about new posts. Email is sent through Mailgun on its EU infrastructure. The legal basis is your consent, given when you subscribe. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at the unsubscribe page or by emailing mail@rezvov.com. When you unsubscribe, the record is marked inactive so you are not contacted again.
Comments
Comments are powered by Giscus, which stores discussion threads in GitHub Discussions. Leaving a comment requires a GitHub account, and your activity there is governed by the GitHub Privacy Statement. The blog does not receive your GitHub password or private account data.
Server logs and bot analytics
The web server keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and operations. Fetches of machine-readable endpoints by AI crawlers are measured server-side without setting personal cookies or sending personally identifying information.
Legal basis
- Analytics and newsletter: your consent.
- Security and operational logs: legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and available.
Who the data is shared with
Data is processed only by the providers needed to run the blog: Google (analytics), Mailgun (newsletter delivery), GitHub (comments), and the VPS host. Personal data is never sold.
How long data is kept
- Analytics: per the retention configured in Google Analytics.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; the inactive record is retained to honor your opt-out.
- Server logs: rotated and removed on a regular schedule.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy for portability, and you can withdraw consent or object to processing at any time. To exercise any right, email mail@rezvov.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Some processors operate outside the EU. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the blog changes. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
